So many cute things and so little time to show them ......Charlottes Brocante is tomorrow on the first day of March

Pink books. How to describe them? Frothy.Worn. Intoxicating.

Pictures of Saints with the guilt and gesso clinging on for dear life with rosaries made with garnets and wood.

Benitiers with velvet that is showing its age oh so gracefully.(Sitting on a document from the 1700's)

I absolutely adore everything that has to do with paper. These music cards small and large have my heart singing its tune. Along with documents, newspaper and menus I LOVE THEM ALL!!

How about a sweet little porte de trorchons for you? They say words for glass and silverware etc.You would hang four towels to dry different things. Ahh, the Frenchies and there eye for detail.

Sweet little rebus cards from a childs game. They tell a story without words.

Paint brushes that have earned there patina buy good old fashion hard work. They would be kind of cute with the paint pallet and paint boxes I have. I WILL SEE YOU TOMORROW NIGHT IN PERSON AND DURING THE DAY FOR THE FINAL SNEAK PEAK!

The time is almost here for Charlottes Brocante...TWO MORE DAYS!!!!

Ahh time flies does it not? I always seem to be short of it. With one of the cuties you will always know what time it is. But you will not get more of it.Sorry. Even a cute French clock can't do that for you.

These are sweet and simple and really do not have a lot of purpose to the outside world .But, for people that come to Charlottes Brocante understand that 19th century sealing wax tubes are beautiful to set  on a document or desk and do not have to be used to receive the maximum amount of joy.You all are my kind of people.

I love anything red, white and France. This plaque fits the bill.......

AND THE TIP OF THE FLAGS ARE TOO MUCH FOR ME TO STAND! I LOVE YOU MY LITTLE RF FINIAL OF FRENCH DELICIOUSNESS!!!

I love you too drapeau (flag) Do not be jealous as I have plenty of love to go around.

Little traveling saints and books with rosaries and pictures of Notre dame. Je'taime Je'taime Je'taime I love you, I love you and  I love you!!! See you same time tomorrow. Bisous

You only have to go to bed for three more nights and then Voila....The Brocante has arrived.

These are sweet like a spoon full of sucre (sugar). Little French volets or as we would call them shutter dogs. I have one to hold my towel in the kitchen that I got from my Shirley girly years ago.(She is getting older, I am not. I have not told you I have booked my 12th ticket to France for March 13th to go see her along with my friend Cathy I am meeting there. Oops, I guess I just did :)

Sweet boxes of paints in original boxes. These look beautiful as in just hanging around making a antique document look even better.(As if that is even possible.)

I am crazy ( Alright ,finish reading the sentence before you start saying yes,we already know that.) for this little sweetie. It is a stand that would be perfect for holing kitchen recettes (recipes) or little music cards as it has a little spring loaded arm for making things stay put.

And who does not need a few olive spoons for who knows what for. You could actually use them for there purpose but I think they look pretty good on there own.( Do they make the newspaper look better or does the newspaper make them look better?) This is kind of which came first the chicken or the egg? Ahhh the mysteries of life. See you tomorrow Mon Amis and Friday in person!!

We are getting close!!! Friday March 1st and Charlottes Brocante Arrives in town

Sometimes I have a little something special and different at my store. This is a first. Une Ciel de Lit (One bed of the sky) Perfect to dream under about all things french.Who does not need a french bed canopy in there life?

And then the things that are staples like bread  or milk. These fit that bill. Small bottle racks are the best.  Great for cups or ribbon spools or sweet french bottles.

The last of the herbiers are standing at attention looking there best in hopes you will take them home.
And ticking in faded greys and khakis.Just everyday simple french brocante things that make you house  have a little ooh la la. I just love everyday French things don't you?

Only 5 more days until Charlottes Brocante and the sneaky peakys just keep coming (You know I like to rhyme sometimes)

OOOOhhhhh I love these. So wonderful. Staitons of the cross from the catholic church. The Roman numerals make my toes curl.

Newspapers from 1795.The texture. The feel. These are so wonderful to make a lampshade, line a armoire or just to enjoy as is. I adore these.(Very wonderful to use for making lampshades and lining with the silk ribbon from a few posts ago.( I have been doing it and the results are fabu!)

Early 19th century game cards to frame in black or guilt frames. I have only found these one other time and have been looking ever since.

And last but not least a pair of "pliants" style seats.Painters and fisherman alike use these as they are light and "pliant" (fold up) and are easy to carry with a little handle. It is fun to think about the people that have used these and what they caught or created. I have my old paint set resting on mine. It creates beauty for me every time I walk by it.

Six days Until Charlottes Brocante yippee!!

The time is ticking away until the brocante is finally here....Will these sweet little paris porcelain egg cups rimmed with gold come home with you? They are just one of the precious things that make life so sweet french style.

These petite pallets were to hold patisserie desserts for display. They just make me swoon.

I have two of these mustard crocks or as the french say "moutarde".They are both marked Paris and that sealed the deal for me.

Thank you so much for liking all things French and enjoying the spoils of my travels to France. I am so excited to meet the new people that are coming, the more the merrier.

One week and 6 hours and Charlottes Brocante is here!!

French wire baskets with stories to tell.Only they know the things they used to hold.I think towels would be nice non?

Bread boards from large to small put them to work and stack them against the wall.(They can do both jobs perfectly.)

19th century specimens in jars for a french feel.Put them out just because you can.

Charlottes brocante is coming to town a give away and what have I been up to?

Well hello all! I hope life has been good to you these past months. Things here have been busy and beautiful. I have been making lampshades out of documents being sick and finding a dress for a slightly picky homecoming princess. Thank goodness our faithful cat Lucy was there to administer our cough drops. Jeff and I were sick for a month. (I think it was easier being sick than finding the dress :)

Charlottes Brocante is coming FRIDAY MARCH 1st at 6 pm. I will start teasing you in a week or so with photos.

I will be giving away some French books and overseas friends are welcome to enter as well. Just leave your name.

I miss you all in blog land and am looking forward to getting back to it again !!
